Western Conference Playoff: Los Angeles (4-0) vs Chicago (3-1) LA is the defending champion, beating Chicago in last year's title game. LA beat Chicago in OT in their meeting this season.
Eastern Conference Playoff: Philadelphia (4-0) vs Tampa (3-1) Last year both of these teams didn't make the playoffs. Tampa was the pre-season number one team, but lost to Philadelphia in their only meeting this season.

I really dug watching both entire games LIVE on MTV2 last night. I really prefer seeing the whole games and not the cutup 30 minute highlight replays that MTV2 did this year, so that was a great aspect of it. Both games were fun to watch and had high intensity. It was very evident to see why these four teams were in the playoffs, they all were very physical. In the first half of the LA/Chicago game, a Bliss player went off with an MCL tear and a LA player went off with a broken arm. There were also injuries in the Philadelphia/Tampa game, but I can't recall the specifics. The first game was Los Angele (4-0) versus Chicago (3-1). Chicago was without their starting QB going into the game so they basically were just running it up the middle and doing shuffle passes up the middle. To make matters worse, their second string QB (Heather Furr) was the one that got the MCL tear on their first TD of the game, so their QB for the rest of the game was a fill-in. Despite that they went into the locker room at halftime up 14-6 because even though LA knew they were coming up the middle they couldn't stop them. LA receivers also dropped a couple of passes that changed the tempo, one would've been a sure TD and was very catchable (but she took her eyes off the ball). In the second half though it was all LA as they got their offense and defense together and outmuscled Chicago. They also returned the opening kickoff for a touchdown which turned the momentum around right away. Once they got ahead their passing game came alive thanks to some great play actions and they had two long bomb TDs. LA couldn't convert the extra points on their TDs, but it didn't matter and they pulled away for a 31-14 win. The second game was Philadelphia (4-0) versus Tampa (3-1). Even though the first game was very physical, I though this one was just a tad more. Philly's RB Marirose Roach is a beast. The LFL has rules in place to ensure their players look good and are athletic, but this girl is definitely carrying more weight around (not bad weight, she's just a tank) and was running over girls left and right. Tampa struck first though with some impressive quick running from Tiffani Powers. Tampa also had some impressive formations that showed their coach is at least trying to exploit weaknesses in the opposing team's defense. That couldn't over come Philly's toughness though, but it did keep the game close. Philly led 14-6 at halftime. It felt like Philly was dominating the whole game to me, but they just couldn't capitalize and put it away. Tampa would make stops when it needed to and tied the game up at 14-all. Philly responded though with Roach carrying the bulk of the effort and went back up 20-14. Tampa had a chance to tie/win with seconds left, but terrible clock management and penalties limited their drive and they were stuck around the 10 with 8 seconds left. So on third down the QB got sacked when a rusher beat her blocker and drove the QB to the turf, ending the game. I wish these games in entirety were on TV all the time. I'd definitely watch them all and I hope that next year they do indeed show the entire games and not 30 minute highlights. They only last two hours at most, since they play two halves (which are basically two regular football quarters). Sean Salisbury was the color commentator, as he has been all season. Listening to him for a full game was something else though. He's goes overboard in trying to sell the league, comparing certain players to NFL players and going so far to say some of these girls could make an NFL team. It was a little much. Just comment on the game for what it is, it really does sell itself anyway. I never had great feelings about him as a person to begin with since even when he provided analysis on EPSN TV and radio he always came across to me as phony. A lot of indoor-types come across the same way unfortunately. Attachments:

I somehow convinced my dad to watch the Tampa game with me and he wasn't arguing with me when I said this was legit football. This league and particularly the Tampa Breeze have impressed me with the quality of play since the opening kickoff in 2009.

I too thought it'd be a joke before I watched the first game in 2009 and I was only going to watch because it was ladies in lingerie...playing football. However I've been impressed at the seriousness of the play and the progress of it. Last year it was mostly rush plays, but this year they're mandated to pass more and more and more different plays are being called. Tampa definitely has the most versatile playbook, but Philly beat twice on toughness.
