It took us 6 hours to get there, stopping off in Portland along the way (almost a mistake since we hit rush hour traffic). It rained the whole way there, which made for a miserable trip on the way. When we got there the arena's parking lots were full so they had people directing us to another lot down the street. The place was definitely sold out, but we had our front row seats bought months in advance so we were set. Nearly everyone had a beer in their hand on the concourse. I was expecting mostly men, but I estimate 1 out of 4 persons were female. Saw some other kids, but not as much as you see at a men's indoor football game. They had a lot of merchandise for sale, but no lime green tshirts, so I got a lime green hat and a program. The program was very high quality, I was impressed. For $10 it was very nice. The indoor football programs I've got elsewhere are terrible in comparison. We got some chicken tenders and water and got to our front row seats. Two seats next to us were empty, which was kind of strange. They had more staff and security about than I normally see at an indoor game. They had four cameramen on the field itself. The pregame was well done with individual player presentations/smack talk as well.
Once the game started the girls went at it just as hard as they guys. The only difference was they're girls and had half the normal uniform (which accounts for most of the males in attendance). Seattle had twice the energy of Minnesota and dominated from start to finish. Ericka Smith got the MVP for the game, she was all over the place, running and catching the ball in style. She also dropped a few passes though, but oh well. Hopkins is still the Mist's best receiver, but Minnesota made sure to cover her with a couple of defenders quite a bit. Minnesota's TE Cydney Froelich was the tallest girl on the field at 6'1, towering over most of the other girls. She caught at least 1 of the 2 Minnesota TDs (couldn't tell who caught the second as she was immediately mobbed by her teammates and I lost who originally had the ball).
My daughter was amazed how fast halftime arrived. I had to tell her they only play two halfs, not four quarters, so it was about half the regular time of a men's game. The two empty seats next to us were filled just before halftime by two young latecomers. They were both surprised how early the game ended, they didn't realize it was just two halfs (just over two quarters in time on field).
There were signs all over the concession stands that they would stop selling alcohol at halftime, a wise choice. It was a madhouse trying to get out of the stadium. The field is closed off after the game by security and the players go out to the concourse and sit behind a table for fan meet and greets, or autographs and pictures. Originally my daughter wanted to stand in line to meet them, but there were just so many people so we both decided it was better to get the h out of there, since there were so many drunks around.
At least the drive back to Portland to stay for the weekend wasn't as bad as the drive up. If Portland gets a team next year I'll go to their games, but Seattle's a long way to go for something like this. It was a nice one time experience though.

If I was setting up a bachelor party I'd set up a trip to the strip club, then to an LFL game, then back to the strip club. Las Vegas has a team, so that would be a good place to do it.

Congratulations on such a great experience!!!! I will catch a game once I'm living in the states, this league has a lot to offer, Mortaza should really take this game as an example of hoe things should be done... let's hope the league keeps getting this much attention

It's possible Mexico City might get a team in a few years as well. It's been talked about, but I don't know how serious the discussions are.

I don't think it's a good idea to bring the league to Mexico City, in every case it would go to Monterrey, it's near the border, they have an amazing arena over there... Mexico City has the sports palace, but the problem is the distance... I think Mexico City is ideal for an All Star exhibition game, just like Monterrey had last year, but to be part of the league... I think Monterrey is a lot better I would say Tijuana, but then... the girls and everyone would party and get drunk and the games would need to be called off

Ha, yeah, from what I hear Tijuana is not a good place to have that event.
