The Omaha Beef have been accepted into the CPIFL.
Official announcement will come at a later date.
Go BEEF (if Bob Scott will let them keep the name)!!!

sad day for me, i will miss when the Storm would play them. I hope that they can play against each other in the future but something tells me that is not very realistic. I hope im wrong.

Ask not for whom the bell tolls IFL, it tolls for thee... the fat lady is warming up

I will also miss the Storm/Beef rivalry. No one left in the IFL to beat the Storm anymore.

Seriously though, the Beef/Storm/Bandit three-way rivalry was great. It would be nice to see that three-way rivalry renewed in the future, but it's a longshot that Bob Scott would ever be in the same league as the Storm again.

It's too bad the Storm had to rub everyone's faces in it these last two years. I think signing Dixon was the straw that broke Bob's back. While I still maintain the teams should aspire to be like the Storm, that is work on bringing the bottom up rather than cutting the top down. Bob still packs in 5000 a night, has lowered ticket prices (something the Beef can now afford to do), and the fans there love him and the Bandits.
Bob's got the right idea... but unfortunately for me as a fan, my team had made choices in the past that have severely limited its future... I see the CPIFL as the future... or the past... (returning to the roots of indoor football, less payroll and travel).. and much like glass milk bottles and paper grocery sacks being "green".. it's more like, oh we actually had it right the first time...

I agree Texxx but I would rather build the bottom up the right way with integrity rather than having a win at all costs attitude with no boundaries.
"If your right eye causes you to sin gouge it out and cast it away" or something like that.

I don't think it's quite that dramatic, but I understand and agree with what you're saying. I often sit here and wonder how organizations like the NFL and MLB got to where they are.
The idea of a "level playing field", aka parity is a relatively new concept in practice for these leagues. I wish I had the time to expound on this thought...

I think that there has always been so much speculation about players being paid more at Sioux Falls because of their success, and I still think this is the case with at least Dixon. The big problem that is hard to ignore for teams is that nobody is even close to Sioux Falls so what are they playing for? Second, third? This is a good move for Omaha with a new owner to keep costs under control, and for the eight or nine teams in the league a chance to do something they couldn't in the IFL, compete for a championship.

I don't know that parity was so wanted in the NFL. Glory day three-peats is what all the owners would want. One problem, player contracts were skyrocketing so high that owners would go broke. So.... owners came out with salary caps more out of greed and need, than for wanting parity. . Let's remember what the late great George Steinbrenner once said to why he spends so much money on the Yankees (paraphrase), As owner, it's my job to put the best team on the field as possible !!! If I didn't, I wouldn't being doing my job.

Omaha MIGHT have a team in the CPIFL but I bet it's not the Omaha Beef. Any takers?? CPIFL is getting way to much credit. IT is nothing more than another start up league that has TWO teams with experience. EVERY other team is a new start up. Somebody pull up some stats on how first year start up teams do.
There is a HUGE difference between the quality of the IFL vs CPIFL. As long as you have 8 LEGIT teams, you have a solid league. The UIF proved that.. The IFL clearly have atleast 8 legit teams that will band together and grow the IFL the right way. I have confidence in that. So before we right off the IFL and jump onto the Bob Scott league, let's just see what's what when the smoke clears.

Sounds like sour grapes from you storm2010. Kansas City is the only real start-up. The others have been around. What are you talking about? Sorry Sioux City is only 1/2 legit for you. Some teams relocated, but they have their equipment and a lot of players as well. And if you want someone to "pull up" stats, how about you pull that up?

Relocation = start up.. spin however you want.
Omaha team would be considered a start up because it wont be the Beef..
Actually I was counting SC as your only legit team and Wichita being .5. Funny how SC has put themselves in SF shoes and all is Roses. WE over pay but you take the same players and it's legit. Invite us down to SC to play and we put 100 on you. No Sour grapes here, just saying it like it is..
