That was a close one.
I think I may have been a jinx since I went to the majority of Capitol home games that year.

In 2005, we went out west to watch the Everett Hawks play the Miami Morays and the Tri-Cities Fever play the Capitals. I don't usually cheer for one team or the other, but for the Capitals/Fever game I decided to wear my Capitals t-shirt and cheer for Lincoln. We got thunder sticks from US Cellular and seats behind the Caps bench. Lincoln received the ball first and, after a play or two, threw a deep pass in the far corner of the endzone. I didn't see if the player caught it but the ref put up his arms so I jumped up, yelling "YEA" and clapping the thunder sticks. I was the only person in the whole arena making noise. I still smile about that today. Of course the Fever went on to win the game like 98 - 6, or something like that, but I kept cheering and patting the players on the shoulder pads when they went in and out of the dressing room at the half. At the end of the game, one of the coaches handed my a football as they left the field. It's one my most treasured collectibles.

On the last day of my three games in three days road trip (Omaha to QC to Lexington to St. Charles, then back to Omaha) back in 2005 I was in Saint Charles, Missouri to watch the NIFL's New Jersey XTreme get blasted by the River City Rage. I was the only one cheering for Jersey (I like underdogs). I was ringing my cowbell so loud I had cleared out most of the seats around me and a guy from across the other side came over at halftime to get a pic with me and to also tell me I was annoying his wife (which he didn't seem to mind, lol).

That's excellent. Road trips are great.

Road trips can be more fun than home games sometimes, especially if you're traveling with other fanatical fans.
