Good question, and to think that took place almost a month ago. The Facebook post is from Jan. 8th. The league quietly changed their schedule. On another note, the Miami Sting have suddenly come to life on facebook. I think I have seen about 15 to 20 posts in the last few days.

Really weird that they had like 2 or 3 owners too that were local businessmen. I wonder if they pulled out or are still on board

The league also has five games on the schedule marked "Non-League Game vs. XXX"- two for Missouri, one each for Lakeland, Georgia, and Florida. Lakeland's website does identify their non-league game as against the Central Florida Vipers, but the other four are listed as Non-League or TBA on the team websites. I'd guess their looking for a West Pa/Huntington Wildcatz type team to fill these gaps this year. I guess they'll count in the standings?

Non-league games shouldn't count in the standings, but with this league you never can tell.

Originally there were 6 Non-league games but the revised schedule placed Sarasota @ Florida on April 13th.
The AIFL Windy City Hitmen will play the Missouri Monsters on April 1st.
The Central Florida Vipers listed 4 games on their facebook page as of December 13.(this is their last post to date) Schedule: April 1st, 2013 Missouri Monsters April 13, 2013 Florida Tarpons April 28, 2013 Lakeland Raiders May 25, 2013 Florida Tarpons
The Hitmen have since replaced them in Missouri on the 1st and the Thunder have replaced them on the 13th
I wonder if the Vipers are the Palm Beach Phantoms of 2013. Last year the Phantoms filled in for the UIFL and talked about becoming a full member in 2013(probably told by the league as well). Of course reality set in and it never happened.
The Viper's, who's facebook page was created on November 18, 2012 and probably is about the same time the team was created, list this in their mission statement under goals
2. To become a premiere men professional indoor football team in all aspects related to our corporate partner, patrons, and fellow members of the organized league of play that we compete in. Our staff shall aim at observing and fulfilling the objectives and regulation of the organized league of play that we participate in, and will aim to be consistently competitive within said league.

Sarasota became a travel team as far back as October 25th when they unveiled their uniforms.

I have rented Robarts for pro wrestling and my total cost was usually $2500/event. I'm sure they had a sweeter deal than that. What a joke league my team is in.

The majority of the time the league takes over the team and by the end of the season the team is either non-existent or local semi-pro players at the away game site play in their place using their uni's.

Usually there is an arrangement where the home team pays for the travel teams travel- kind of like "buy" games in college. Players on travel teams are also typically paid less, or not all.

Palm Beach Lake High is all the way on the other side of the state? ?? WTF? I saw an article where the Palm Beach Phantoms team closed shop, so is this Thunder team the next thing there? Why the Sarasota tag?
