I've been following attendance numbers off and on since 2004 (by end of season I usually give up) and experience has shown that teams that don't report attendance numbers usually have really bad attendance, like below the 1,000 range. So until I hear otherwise, they get 0000 for Week 5 and that's probably pretty close to accurate as you're going to get. *Updated 13 AprAll stats from qkstats.net except for: Saginaw's Week 5 home game taken from: www.mlive.com/sports/saginaw/index.ssf/2009/04/fortyyearold_quarterback_rob_h.htmlEl Paso's Week 4 home game taken from: www.elpasotimes.com/sports/ci_12087686Fairbanks' Week 4 home game taken from: www.newsminer.com/news/2009/apr/03/fairbanks-experience-shows-against-young-maniacs/Sioux Falls' Week 3 home game taken from: www.sfarena.com/seating (click on Football to get max capacity for football games...media announced game as sold out) Maryland's Week 3 home game taken from: www.marylandmaniacs.com/index.php/forums/viewthread/33/Rochester's Week 2 home game taken from www.democratandchronicle.com/article/20090320/SPORTS/903200325

a whole lotta lies being told... It's indoor football. I'd be muchhhhh more surprised about somebody telling the truth on attendance figures than telling lies.

I was wondering what Wichita would list for attendance. Don't think that last figues is accurate either, but didn't expect it to be (anymore than any other team)

so what standard do we set. In this league sponsorship make or break a team. Teams report attendance based on how many people can see an ad. so if you give away, sell, comp, trade 4000 tickets, that's a potential audience of 4000. Only us die-hard fans hold the league to a higher "butts-in-seats" standard. If honesty were suddenly introduced into indoor football the whole thing would collapse.
Most places use those nifty little ticket scanners these days, surely there's a way to get an accurate count. And, to be fair.. I honestly think the #'s announced in Sioux City last Saturday seemed a bit low, if you can believe that. announced ~5000 I'd have said closer to ~5500-6000

Agreed.
The fact that San Angelo doesn't want to report attendance shows they can't even inflate it enough to even respectable numbers without people questioning it, so you know it was real bad.

Maybe he could let us know the attendance?

I was not at the San Angelo game this past Saturday. However, from what I saw on the B2 broadcast, the crowd was very sparse.
On the other hand, the figures that have been reported thus far in El Paso and Abilene are pretty representative of the number of spectators in attendance. And I realize that there is still that "newness factor" to take into consideration here. At Abilene's home opener, on a Monday night while NCAA basketball championship was going on, I believe just over 3900 was reported in the stats and I attest first hand that that figure is pretty close to accurate. Here again, at Saturday's contest against Omaha, there was hardly an empty seat in the house.
And again, from reports I've received coming out of El Paso, the 4694 reported in the newspaper is pretty dead on when compared to the lack of empty seats.
I haven't actually seen the reports that indicate tickets sold vs. actual drop count. But Abilene and El Paso have enjoyed huge crowds during these opening weeks.
At Odessa's Monday night exhibition game, there were easily 3500 to 4000 fans in the stands.

That's good to hear, as far as Abilene and El Paso I mean. I hope Odessa can keep those numbers going into their first regular season game and that starting 0-2 won't hurt them.

I have my doubts that it was 4500 in Abilene on Saturday (or whatever it was reported at), but it was certainly a nice crowd. It doesn't even look like that arena holds 4500, but everything I've read says capacity is 5000, so I'll bank on that. You might want to hold a seminar on the indoor game to your fanbase, though. Leaving a three score game with 12-13 minutes to go is something you don't see from many fans with any kind of experience with these games

Matt, I've seen it happen in Sioux Falls time and time again. these are people who should know better. We dropped a game to the Bandits in 2005 after having been up by 18 with 1:40 left.

I would have to say the Colorado numbers are pretty close. Unfortunately, we have seen a drop in attendance every year for the last 3. The first year we probably averaged 3500+. Last year about 3000. This year 2100. Not good.
