Yeah, someone got the wool put over their eyes on that commissionership hire.
Beach in VA this time of year is cold, but hell, when you're visiting it on someone else's dime, you can live with that.
The CIFL's league fees are well below $2,500, but certainly the argument there can be made likewise - are teams getting their money's worth? No league can answer "yes" to that at this moment.

Alot of nice ideas here. Another thing I would like to add is to get the schedule in line. Start all the teams at the same time, and don't have 4 by weeks for a team. It is silly to have a team on its 4th game and another on it's first. And it really stretches out the season longer. (pisses off the wife unit...) It's a minor thing, but a thing none the less. A lot of that other stuff is more important.....

A lot of that other stuff is more important..... I believe that will be corrected for the 2010 season. The reason it happened that way this season is because, at the time of the merger, most of the teams had already reserved their arena dates. Typically, the UIF's season started in early March, while the Intense Football League's season didn't start until mid April. So that's why it happened this way for this season.

that doesn't explain division teams not playing each other though.

A lot of that other stuff is more important..... That is tough, simply because some arenas have events all the time in March, and not in later times. Secondly, the indoor football team 9 times out of 10 takes precedence behind the basketball, hockey, soccer, tennis, and women's foosball teams, and then past that behind the circus and Jehovah's Witness convention.

that doesn't explain division teams not playing each other though. No it does not. I believe that area should improve as well. It's my opinion that the one who built the 2009 schedule (*coughBENIZIOcough*) needs to, and will, hand that responsibility over to someone who knows what they're doing when it comes to creating a fair and balanced schedule.

I hope that happens, because the last year of the UIF and this first year of the IFL has seen the schedules totally unbalanced as far as playing teams in your division or conference. Rivalries also suffer as a result of teams not playing each other in their division. I realize nothing is ever perfect due to arena dates and such, but I know it could be significantly better than it is now with proper planning.

it's not like there weren't alternate arrangements that could have been made.
two issues that would make an agreeable schedule.. ok three.. but two that linger..
everyone starts, and ends on the same week. no home and home's on consecutive weeks BALANCED SCHEDULE -division opponents twice -the rest of the conference once -remainder filled by other conference
It can't be that freaking hard, really it can't. if travel is an issue, start your own league like Thom.

I totally agree. You get someone to do it for the league who has the time to gather all the open arena dates for each team and he works with all the teams to make it happen. No switching of teams between division at the last minute after the schedule has been made either, like has happened the last year of the UIF and this year in the IFL.

I have to say, Sometimes Home and Home on consecutive weeks... sometimes it is just how the schedule plays out. I worked and reworked our schedule and got it to 1, but couldn't get rid of it. But like i said, i reworked the schedule a number of times until i got it to just 1

All I know is I was completely content with the great United Indoor Football Association. I have ZERO complaints about the IFL, as the new Premier Indoor Football League of North America. If anyone isn't happy with the IFL, they should seek out the league that makes them happy, and not waste their precious time here being miserable and not waste our time trying to bring us to their level of bitterness & misery. Seriously, life is too short to gyp yourself. Be happy. Go IFL. ;D
