[I vote for Peyton.... Not only did he overcame two offseason operations on his left knee, he had a horrible offensive line, not much of a backfield, a hot-and-cold defense and a bad star, then he lead the Colts to nine straight wins, a seventh consecutive playoff appearance and his NFL-record ninth straight 4,000-yard season.

I guess Peyton wins after all............
Congrats

We all knew he was going to win, but this thread was more about who the board members thought actually deserved it.

Of the players who received official votes in the MVP voting by the sportswriters, all are out of the playoffs already. Of the players receiving votes on this site, Ed Reed (2 votes) and Kurt Warner (1 vote) are only left...and both played like MVPs in their respective games.
Deion Sanders on NFL Network agreed with me and mentioned that the MVP Voting process needs to be taken away from the sportswriters and his choice was also Ed Reed. While I don't always agree with Sanders' opinions, sometimes I do and this one we are both on the same page. Put this in the hands of coaches, all awards. Hall of Fame too, take it away from the writers and put it in the hands of Hall of Famers themselves and a select group of coaches, people who actually know the game. Ok, I'm off the soapbox.

They mentioned that on NFL Network as well, and I have to agree that it should be voted on and announced right before the Super Bowl. The Super Bowl is played two weeks after the conference championships, so that period would be perfect to get it done and all games up to that point would be eligible for consideration. The MVP of the Super Bowl will take care of that award for that game, so no need to consider it. I doubt it will be changed though.
