ABILENE, TX. : The ownership group of Abilene's newest professional sports franchise was formally introduced on Tuesday, October 14th, 2008 from Buffalo Wild Wings. Allegiance Pro Sports is the elite company that will own the Abilene organization with Brandon Smith (35) leading as President. Allegiance Pro Sports is based in Odessa, Texas. Smith was born and raised in Odessa and is a 1991 product of Odessa High School. He has been working in the family business since he graduated from high school and he is a member of Crossroads Fellowship in Odessa.
"We are so excited to have an IFL organization in Abilene. We hope to build a long-lasting relationship with the Abilene community. We want to create success and a form entertainment for all the people of Abilene. Abilene is a place that has a large collection of football fans, and we hope that we can develop a strong following for the Abilene club for the upcoming season." stated Smith.
Joining Brandon will be his sister Rebecca Greenfield who will contribute in helping the team through many aspects of the organization. Further announcements were made regarding future plans and priorities for the Abilene organization. These plans include; "To honor God in all we do", contributing to the community, serving ticket holders and corporate sponsors, and to grow profitably. Among these plans discussed were the team's tentative date of unveiling the new head coach, along with the announcements of ticket prices and season tickets on sale.
More news was discussed about the franchise's unveiling of the team's name and logo, along with further information regarding the introduction of the team's General Manager which is set for the tentative date on Tuesday, November 4th, 2008.
The Indoor Football League season will consist of 14 (all-Saturday) games, seven of which will be hosted at the Taylor County Expo Center in Abilene.
