Does anyone know if Frisco's arena will be ready for 2009? I know this year they had to play all their games early since the arena was undergoing construction later. I just wasn't sure when the arena was going to be finished, can't recall. Thanks.

I believe the goal was to have the renovation complete in time for the Texas Tornado's 2008-2009 hockey season. Therefore, it should be ready to go for the Frisco Thunder in 2009.

I heard that it will be much nicer. It's definately going to be bigger. I don't know how it could be any nicer though. It was one of the nicest arenas I've ever been to.

Does anyone know what the seating is now and then after the remodeling? Before renovations, the seating capacity was right at 3,700. Afterward, I belive it will be in the 5,000 to 5,500 range.

I heard that the arena might not be ready for 2009? Anyone know if this is in fact the case?

Accordin to the arena's own website it won't be open until June. where does that leave the team?
"The Deja Blue Ice Arena at the Dr Pepper StarCenter-Frisco is currently undergoing extensive renovations as we expand the size and scope of the Arena. We will be adding more seats, additional luxury suites, expanded food and beverage options and the ability to host a wider variety of special events, such as concerts and family shows. The Dr Pepper StarCenter remains open to our ice skating customers during this expansion. Deja Blue Arena is scheduled to re-open in June 2009. Please check back for updates on coming events soon."

Accordin to the arena's own website it won't be open until June. where does that leave the team? In a lurch I guess. I wonder if Frisco will have to sit out the 2009 season because of this, or if they will become a road team (or perhaps find a temp place to play in '09)?
