COLORADO ICE AND FAIRBANKS GRIZZLIES TO HOLD JOINT TRYOUT
Fort Collins, CO - The Colorado ICE and the Fairbanks Grizzlies are conducting an open tryout for the 2011 season on Friday, December 3rd, 2010 from 8am-3pm at Arena Sports in Windsor, CO.
Head coaches Collins Sanders of the ICE and Robert Fuller of the Grizzlies, along with each team's staff, will be evaluating players in a pro combine-style tryout from 8am-11am. Some areas being tested are the 40 yard dash, 225 bench press, vertical jump, L-drill, and W-drill. The evaluations will continue from 1pm-3pm when players will be in a practice session for individual positions.
Sanders and Fuller have coached together previously and are combining tryouts to reach a wide array of players that each team might not otherwise have the opportunity to evaluate. Coach Sanders said, "I am glad that we have the chance to team up with Coach Fuller and his staff to run this tryout. Having coached with Robert before, this will be a benefit for both organizations and the players involved."
Coach Fuller stated, "The Fairbanks Grizzlies are very excited to team up with the Colorado ICE on this joint tryout. When two teams can come together and provide the opportunity for players from throughout the United States to be evaluated, it shows the commitment that we are making to find the best players for our organizations and the Indoor Football league."
Registration fees are $45 for pre-registered participants and $55 the day of the tryout. Pre-registered participants may pay with check or credit card, same day walk-up registration is cash only. Pre-registration will end on Wednesday, December 1st and is strongly encouraged as space is limited.
To register for the tryout, call the Colorado ICE offices at 970-472-0128. For more information regarding travel, driving directions, and accommodations go to TheColoradoIce.com or fairbanksgrizzlies.com. For those flying, Denver International Airport is the best option.
