For those of us that travel to away games, most of us also like to check out the local city.
If you could recommend anything about the town your team plays in, what would it be? You can list activities, restaurants, hotels, sight seeing, etc.

the MAC is nice...everything else in Council Bluffs...well....the Zoo in Omaha is nice There are also casinos in Council Bluffs. I'm not recommending gambling, but most have good buffets. There's a Hooters and a Quaker Steak & Lube next to the MAC for those that like wings. There's also an IMAX Theater nearly across the road from the MAC. My daughter and I went and saw Avatar in 3D there, it was huge since we were nearly in the front row.

good point about the casinos. And you go to Hooters for the wings?
and yes, the IMAX is cool. I saw The Dark Knight there.

And you go to Hooters for the wings? That's what I tell women I'm with when I go. Actually, my mom and sister were visiting us in Omaha once and they wanted crab legs and hooters was cheaper than Red Lobster so I asked if they were uptight about going to Hooters and they could've cared less. Hooters wings are ok, but I like Quaker Steak and Lube's better. The hooters in Omaha had better looking servers IMHO, but who knows what you'll find when you go to either as I'm sure the staff changes regularly. I went to both perhaps a total of 5 times during the 9 years I was in Omaha.

some place I've got an old thread about hotels and tailgating lots.. perhaps start a sticky thead in the main page (tab?) with links to each teams forum with a sticky thread inside...if that makes sense.
I'll do somg digging through the boards in a bit and see if I can start Sioux Falls's

First I was going to gather the info, but you're right...I can do it in reverse and highlight the need for info better. I'll add a tab up there tomorrow (don't want to mess with code right now) with links to sticky threads in team pages. Thanks.

In La Crosse, I recommend:
Hotels: - Holiday Inn (downtown, right near La Crosse Center) - Candlewood Suites (nice, new hotel, Spartans discount) - Brookstone Inn (Spartans sponsor, but never been there)
Restaurants: - Buzzard Billy's (near La Crosse Center) - Piggys - The Waterfront (nice) - Pizza Doctors (unique types of pizza)
Things to Do - Hike at Hixon Forest - Visit Grandad's Bluff - Riverfest and Oktoberfest (different times of year than football though)
I will add to this post when I think of more. Or PM me if you are making a trip, and I can give more suggestions.

I'll add a tab at the top soon. I need a short and succinct name and was thinking TRIP INFO.

ROAD TRIP? AWAY GAMES? Sioux Falls Hotels Ramada Inn - Russell Ave Sheraton (attached to Arena) Food Section O Tailgate Unfortunately Sioux Falls is severely lacking original food, as those type places never last long. But we've got just about every chain restaurant known to man. Near the Arena: Buffalo Wild Wings Castaways (inside the Ramada hotel) Burger King Casa Del Sol and Quiznos Things to Do Falls Park

I considered Away Games, didn't think of Road Trip or Road Trips. What does everyone think, what makes the most sense: ROAD TRIP ROAD TRIPS AWAY GAMES TRIP INFO Or other?

If anyone plans on coming to Fairbanks, get ahold of the Grizzlies office and they will help you find things. One place you have to visit is the Santa Claus House, In North Pole Alaska. He really does live here, he is my Neighbor. You can always view the pipeline and see lots of Wildlife, Moose are very plentiful. Could be an awesome trip if you have a couple days to look around the state.
