Rocky Hinds
Hinds, a 6’5, 235 lb quarterback, has signed with the Nebraska Danger. After playing for the Bloomington Extreme last season, Hinds was a finalist for 2011 IFL MVP. His 2011-12 IFL stats included passing 260 of 460 for 2509 yds with 44 touchdowns, and rushing 274 yards for 6 touchdowns.
A USC transfer to UNLV, Sporting News listed him as having ‘the strongest arm in the conference’. When he left USC, he was ranked the No. 1 transfer in the nation by College Football News, who also listed Hinds as a candidate for the 2006 Heisman Trophy. He was also a pre-season candidate for O'Brien Award and 2nd team All-MWC pre-season candidate. Out of high school, he was in the top 10 in the nation at the quarterback position and was named a Super-Prep All-American. Hinds was very active on the track team as well, excelling in the 100 meter dash, long and high jump.
Danger Head Coach Mike Davis comments, “Rocky is an experienced quarterback that will bring a dual threat to the Danger offense.”
Cornelius ‘Pig’ Brown
Brown, a 5’11 200 lb defensive back comes to the Danger with indoor experience playing for in-state rival Omaha Beef, where he had 65 total tackles - 42 solo - and a total of 2 sacks for the 2011 season, and the River City Rage. A University of Missouri safety, where he was named a two-time Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week, and was a four-year letterman who opened 30 career games at DB and totaled 130 tackles. Brown was a third-round draft pick for the Kansas City Chiefs and also played for the Green Bay Packers and briefly with the Indianapolis Colts.
He was named Defensive Player of the Week for Week 14 of the IFL last season with the Beef.
“Pig brings veteran leadership and toughness to a very young defense,” states Danger Head Coach Mike Davis.
