Carolina Force short-circuited by Harrisburg Stampede 51-12

Quarterback E.J. Nemeth rushed for four touchdowns and passed for a fifth as the Harrisburg Stampede throttled the Carolina Force of Concord 51-12 in the American Indoor Football playoffs Saturday night at the Farm Show Complex.

Nemeth scored on runs of 2, 1, 4 and 1 yards as the Stampede outscored Concord 51-6 in the final three quarters after falling behind on a 32-yard heave from DeMarcus Simons to C.J. Washington with 2:32 left in the opening quarter.

Nemeth tacked on a 2-yard pass to Dan Huff in the fourth quarter as Harrisburg continued to pull away. Eugene Goodman also rushed for a late 20-yard touchdown, while Richard Goodman put the hosts in front with a 15-yard interception return for their first score.

Up next for the Stampede is a visit to Cape Fear (N.C.) next Saturday for a date with the homestanding Heroes in the conference title game.
