Jensen Sells Himself for a Good Cause
Back to List
Sioux City Bandits (Mar. 08, 2012)
Sara Bauer is an ICU nurse at Mercy Medical Center and extremely passionate about her job. On Christmas Eve 2011, her boyfriend Jason proposed and naturally she said yes. She had a wonderful 13-year-old son and life was very good.
So you ask what this has to do with Bandits quarterback and league MVP Scott Jensen? To this point, nothing. But follow along and I'll get there quickly.
Before Sara could start planning her wedding, before she could even go to sleep on that exciting Christmas Eve, she suffered a massive brain aneurysm at her home in Sioux City, Iowa. She was life-flighted to the University Hospital in Omaha, NE for emergency surgery and is still in the ICU ward in Omaha.
A tragedy, you may say, and a very sad story. But in the back of your mind you are still asking what this has to do with our very own Scott Jensen. Soon, readers, very soon.
As you can imagine, even with a great family, friends and health insurance, the road to recovery is physically, emotionally and financially difficult not to mention long. Her friends and family have come together to organize a benefit in her name to help her through this difficult time.
On March 10, from 4pm to midnight, there will be a benefit for Sara Bauer at the Whispering Creek Golf Club. Several companies have donated items to be auctioned, there will be a raffle, a dinner and cash bar, snacks, bake sale, music by the Kelly Quinn band and enter Scott Jensen the big highlight of the evening, an auction to sell a date with five bachelors and five bachelorettes. Scott Jensen, with fellow bachelors Bob Snodgrass, Brent Ferguson, Mitch Connot and Matt Pike will put themselves on the auction block with bachelorettes Hali Jannelle, Melinda Rae, Kayla Lundt, Shelby Deck and Jen Shafer.
Minimum bid on the auction will be $50 per person and it all goes to a good cause, bring your checkbook or cash because credit cards are not accepted. If you cannot make it to the benefit but would still like to help, there is a fund at:
Liberty National Bank
For the benefit of Sara Bauer
4425 Singing Hills Blvd
Sioux City, Iowa 51106
You can also find her on Facebook under Sara Bauer Benefit.
Sorry if this doesn't belong here!!
