I would love to say the Storm, but there are some big holes to fill on that team. I went with the Swashbucklers, although I think it will depend on the league rules. Intense rules ... Bucs all the way.
If the rules are more in line with the UIF, I'm not so sure. The Swashbucklers looked a little undersized at the line of scrimage and I thought the Storm wore them down in the title game. But that quarterback was the real deal (in fact thier backup would start on a lot of UIF teams) and thier speed was impressive. Just not sure they have the big boys to play a whole season with the UIF teams.

I met some league officials at the hotel, and they told me it is basically going to be an combination of basic UIF style football, plus the Intense FL added tackle eligible/tight end raising his hand at the line(like in the afl). so a combo of both styles leaning more towards UIF style was my general impression. Otherwise. most football rules are just about the same. 6 points for a TD etc.

still sticking with omaha but billings new wr might change things, and since sc has about a .02% chance of winning, go omaha.

You have to have at least a really good quarterback, regardless of the rules, to win on the 50-yard field.
I don't think Omaha has that. But if their run game continues to improve, it *might* not matter. Still need to be able to throw well.

Last year Mcnear played well throwing and running the ball, as long as he keeps his ints and bad throws down, he is one of the better qbs in the league

Louisiana has the most votes so far with 7, and Sioux Falls and Omaha follow with 5 votes. Louisiana does have a lot of talent so I can't disagree with the results so far.

Sioux Falls would be the favorite if they weren't losing half their defense. But they are losing half their defense.
Any quarterback would be tops in a league if he kept his ints and bad throws down. The ones that actually DO that are the top ones in the league.

I got to go with the home team. The Storm is losing a lot of talent, but we have good depth, and coach Riggs has a way of reloading.

James McNear was a legit MVP candidate last season, a rare QB with the ability to create big plays and avoid the turnover bug. If he wasn't the best Quarterback in the UIF last season (and there were a ton of good ones), he was dang close. Omaha may well come up short in 2009 (so much parody), but McNear wont be the reason if they do.

With Louisiana out of the running due to them bolting, it looks like Sioux Falls is the favorite to win another title for the fifth year running. Someone needs to stop them this year, enough is enough.
