The Everett news has been expected and again is probably good for the IFL. If the IFL can now find a way to get rid of Charlotte and TC we will have a very travel friendly league. And if Allen folds or moves to the Texas league, the IFL will really be travel friendly.
This is a big opportunity for the IFL. Let's see if the opwners can get out of the "nationwide league" mindset.

it's really pretty simple..
step 1 (always the hardest) GET A MAP
2. place a dot, or a pushpin where each of your teams are. 3. draw a circle around all of the pushpins 4. look to expand within the circle first.

nationwide may be good if you have 32 teams. Not good when you have 12 or whatever they have now

How do you get rid of Charlotte? I imagine they have paid their expansion/membership fee and application fee. Probably not simple to refund.....

How do you get rid of Charlotte? I imagine they have paid their expansion/membership fee and application fee. Probably not simple to refund..... Should be pretty simple to refund. The funds should be in an account somewhere. The league saved money with the resignation of Benizio, so the money has to be somewhere. And if the money is already spent you have to get it from team owners. As far as getting rid of them, I am sure team owners can play hard ball if they have to. What if every team refused to travel to Charlotte? Or what if team owners voted to make Charlotte pay for travel to Charlotte? There are votes they can take that will make it miserable on the Speed. Charlotte will have no choice but to take the refund and play in the PIFL. Seems like it would just be simple for Charlotte to take the refund and avoid a potential legal mess which will cost all parties money. I also have to think Charlotte will want out. They are looking at Chicago being their closest opponent which is 750 miles away. At least 2-3 plane flights will be necessary for the Speed. I just don't see how this is a good situation for anyone involved.

Oh, that money is spent... they "couldn't afford" to send a league representative to Sioux Falls for the championship game. Any and all league funds were spent keeping Omaha afloat this season.

Updated Possible Expansion to include Kansas City AFL team. Strong info indicates they are leaving the AFL and joining either the IFL or CPIFL.

No way they can afford rent at the Sprint Center in either league.... so where are they going to play?

No way they can afford rent at the Sprint Center in either league.... so where are they going to play? I saw something about Kemper Arena on the arenafan boards, but I wasn't aware that was still open.

Kemper's still open, but based on what I've read, placing a team there is a fate worse than death. you thought the crowds in the sprint center were bad.
It would be OKC, Part II

Could they afford the Sprint Center for the AFL? Was that what hurt them?

getting a couple thousand fans a game hurt more than any amount of rent.

True - but if rent stays the same - the savings in players payroll from AFL to IFL could be substantial.

Gentlemen , I agree with you both to disagree!! 1st - have you saw anything that says command has folded ? That they were for sale ? if you have please forward me the site. answer will be NO !! 2nd - attendance kills you no matter what , but papa kurtz ( AFL ) want give up the market so quick to a new league .... "HE IS STILL LIVING THE DREAM " that he is a GURU ! The owner of the command is not going to switch leagues , he has to much invested in the league ... I would say he would close up shop first , the other team " THE BRIGADE " had success , will somebody pay the cash to get the name back ? MAYBE but it will cost them just like it did GREEN BAY ! Kansas City knows Football , and they know Arena Football and they have not seen either in a while , but who knows , The fan's may attend early but if its a cheap knock off product enjoy the 1 and done .... no matter how cheap the tickets are .... And the Owner who has stated all so much about 16 k at a game , better hope he gets it game 1 of the knock off league ...... The IFL what is left of that dream ? out - new mexico, both penn teams , everett , wichita , allen ) and please show me where Omaha has New owners , the IFL better become the CPIFL quick and form a great league , all bus trips ...but I look and read and care , and with all the teams out there trying to make it only a few ever profit !!! but thank goodness we are just fan's and love to guess whats going on !! ADFL ...not happening ,

I also heard there would be a name change for KC, no idea if they will be Command, Brigade, or other. They won't be back in the AFL, it was surprising they tried again in that market actually. Notice I put them in POTENTIAL EXPANSION until such a time as they either join the IFL or CPIFL or fold.
Omaha's status is uncertain, but it looks like they'll be back in a league next year (if they do fold for some reason, then I'll change their status).
I agree, AFDL is not happening for 2013.
