That could be for player protection as well depending on how high the stands are. good point. Its a hockey barn and that one side has stands that end right on top of the board basically. I remember a video from way back in I think the AFL where a woman fell onto the field. Anyone remember that? I don't remember that, but I never followed the AFL that close. I've seen a kid get totally clocked by a player when he went over the wall in Evansville though. They gave him a game ball of course, but by the look of him he was definitely concussed. Then there was that game in Texas where the lady who was the GM (think she was the GM) got her teeth knocked out and taken to the hospital after being hit by a player going over the walls. What's amazing to me is when the players go over the wall in the end zones in some arenas, totally selling their bodies out to make a possible td catch, and on the other side of the wall is a concrete floor and they land right on it. I keep expecting them not to get up, but they always have so far at the games I've been at. The setup for these games can get crazy at some arenas, since let's face it, when most of these places were built they didn't exactly have indoor football in mind (it wasn't even around then). Some of the newer arenas have been fantastic though.

The average Bandit fan will care about who we play if we are winning, and I doubt the lesser league will show in overall attendance. After all you can pay around $10 a ticket and get 2 shirts a game. That is $5 a shirt per seat. Not a bad deal. I guess we'll see. I think the hard core fans will notice, but I think the average fan will be happy to see the games and also enjoy winning (which I expect them to do, I see them in the top 3 competing for the title). Sioux City has managed to get great attendance in some very lean years record-wise, so this could be a shot in the arm that they need...especially if they're able to host the title game.

As a former skateboarder I can tell you cement doesn't hurt when you are doing your thing and full of adrenaline. But when you wake up the next day you will feel it. I am sure that is the same for a lot of hits football players take.

I don't want either. I'd make the other guy take the faceplant/shot to the groin while I shoot the video and post it to youtube.
